Paul's bike souped up with Ultrega Rear D, carbon cranks and Tyrel rims... smooth! |
Moulton bicycles, MIE - made in England. This bike is a strange oddity in the world of cycling. Why are people attracted to the brand? For me, it is the mystique of riding something handmade, something British. Even more so, I find that the bike is a culmination of a man whole life efforts, Alex Moulton. I am also intrigued by the space frame construction which is so beautiful visually. So how much is just marketing hype and how much is really real? I really don't know. Maybe it is also due to my day job as a product designer. I am drawn to brands that is unique and quirky. Rather than just selling the bike performance, there is also the history and story behind the brand. I don't earn enough to buy a old Jaguar or any luxurious cars for that matter, but I think I can still eke out some for the rolls royce of cycling.... Stay tuned to read about my personal experience on the Moulton TSR.
